The National Gas Transmission Company (SNTGN) Transgaz SA Medias posted a net profit of 281,77 million lei in the first half of this year, down by 12.37% compared to the same period last year, according to the report of the company sent on Tuesday to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB).

The company’s turnover decreased to 814,54 million lei in the first half of this year, from 821,38 million lei in the same period last year, while the natural gas quantities transported fell by 9% to 5.873 billion cubic meters, according to Agerpres.

Transgaz made investments of 37,759 million lei, in the first six months of this year, out of a total of 721,902 million lei, which represents the value of the investment funds for the full year 2016.

Romanian Transgaz is the national gas transporter. The Romanian state owns, through the Ministry of Economy, a 58.5% package of shares, the rest being traded on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
