Romania wants to lure US investors in green energy and offshore wind projects, wrote on Facebook the Minister of Energy, Virgil Popescu, after a working meeting with Andrew Light, Deputy Secretary of Energy for International Relations.
“Today, on the basis of participating in the Three Seas Initiative Forum in Sofia, I had a very important working meeting with Andrew Light, Deputy Secretary of Energy for International Relations. We discussed specific details about the future investments that will be made in Romania, in the nuclear-energy projects from Cernavoda, in renewable energy and in the civil nuclear energy sector in Romania. We received assurances that the USA is and will be a reliable partner for Romania, in order to strengthen the strategic partnership in the field of energy security, in order to obtain mutual – reciprocal benefits,” said Popescu, according to financialintelligence.ro.
“Another important aspect that I wanted to convey was the following: we want to attract American investors in green energy and offshore wind projects. Because these investments will bring new jobs to our country and, at the same time, we will strengthen our state position which has something to say when we talk about the Energy of the future. Cosmin Ghiţă, CEO of Nuclearelectrica and Bogdan Badea, CEO of Hidroelectrica also attended talks,” added Popescu.
