Romania has been “in breach of proceedings, in certain cases, in the field of energy”, but “this is no longer the case, because the European Commission has adopted a decision-making package on cases of violation of EU law” and filed them, wrote on his Facebook page the Minister of Energy, Virgil Popescu.
“Today I am at the meeting of the Energy Council in Luxembourg. And I have good news! European partners noted that we are making efforts and finding solutions to correct what was not working and we were in the process of infringing on certain causes in the field of Energy. The European Commission has adopted a decision-making package on cases of violation of EU law (infringement),” wrote Virgil Popescu on the social network, according to Agerpres.
According to the minister, the decision-making package aims at classifying some cases having as object the violation of the provisions of art. 35 and 36 TFEU (prohibition of quantitative restrictions on exports and equivalent measures) and the provisions of art. 40 (c) of Directive 2009/73/EC on common rules for the internal market in natural gas and repealing Directive 2003/55 / EC.
The classification of Case 2019/2036 was provided, having as object the non-observance of art. 3 para. (1) in conjunction with art. 3 para. (2) of Directive 2009/72 / EC on common rules for the internal market in natural gas and of Art. 6 in conjunction with art. 8 para. (1), art. 12 para. (5) and art. 9 of Regulation (EU) 2017/1938 on measures to ensure security of gas supply, as well as the classification of Case 2020/2339, having as object the non-fulfillment of Romania’s obligations under articles of Directive 2010/31/EU on energy performance of buildings.
“I want to thank and congratulate my colleagues from the Ministry of Energy, who showed professionalism and found the best legislative solutions! At the same time, it is a merit of the liberal governments, led by Ludovic Orban and Florin Cîţu, for that we have repaired what PSD ruined,” the Minister of Energy also wrote.
