Virgil Popescu, Minister of Economy, Energy and Business Environment, says he estimates a fall in the price of natural gas starting this spring, due to the excess gas stored, which will have to be sold.

“I believe in a fall in the price of natural gas, especially since we passed this winter peak, we have only one month left and the price of natural gas and electricity has not increased, just as I assured you,” he said, according to a statement posted on the social page of the minister.

“Everyone was saying that after the repeal of GEO 114 there will be price increases. Not. And I tell you why not. In my opinion, after coming out this winter, because we have very large stocks in deposits, … the operators will want to sell those stocks. We will have an excess of gas starting with March-April,” he said.
