The natural gas bill will be able to be paid in installments by vulnerable customers over a period of at least 3 months, according to a draft Order released for public consultation by the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE).
“Taking into account the dynamics of the energy markets in the EU and implicitly in Romania, ANRE is in a continuous and constant process of adapting and improving commercial regulations in accordance with the primary legislation and the needs of all market participants… The Draft Order proposes amending and supplementing some already existing provisions, but also introducing some new provisions, among which we mention: the installment payment of the invoice for vulnerable customers, at their request, for a period of at least 3 months or agreed by the parties; in case the supplier issues the invoice for an invoicing period longer than that stipulated in the contract or established according to the regulations in force, it is obliged to extend the amounts owed by the customer in installments, over a period at least equal to the invoicing period for which the invoice was issued; detailing the ways in which the supplier resolves the end customer’s complaints regarding invoicing, the latter not being obliged to pay the invoice for which he submitted a complaint to the supplier until the complaint is resolved,” it is stated in a press release from the regulatory authority, according to Agerpres.
Other provisions included in the project aim to simplify the minimum content of all natural gas invoices, respectively the mandatory information to be included by the supplier in them.
