Vulnerable families will be able to receive aid of up to 750 lei for the installation of heat distributors, according to a program of the Ministry of Energy totaling 375 million lei.
The Ministry of Energy announced, on Monday, the initiation of a draft law amending and supplementing the Government’s Emergency Ordinance no. 166/2022, with the aim of providing support to categories of vulnerable people to offset the cost of energy, with partial financing from non-reimbursable external funds, according to Agerpres.
“This program represents our commitment to support vulnerable families in optimizing the consumption of thermal energy. By allocating a budget of almost 400 million lei and implementing effective solutions, such as distribution systems for thermal energy, we aim to take real steps towards the energy efficiency of all households. We want every vulnerable family to be able to benefit from lower bills and more precise control over energy consumption. We trust that this measure will bring an improvement in quality the lives of those who are affected by price increases”, said the Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, in a press release from the institution.
The project is developed in the context of the implementation of the provisions of Law no. 428/2023, which establishes temporary support measures for the purchase and installation of technical systems for the distribution of individual thermal energy consumption. These systems are essential for the efficiency of energy consumption in condominium-type buildings connected to centralized heating systems or equipped with their own local sources of thermal energy production, states the quoted ministry.
According to the draft normative act, the support is intended for families and people who live in condominium buildings and who have monthly incomes equal to or less than 2,000 lei. Each eligible household can receive a nominal support of a maximum of 750 lei, usable for the purchase and installation of distribution systems, until December 31, 2025.
The funds will be allocated by means of a “card for distributors”, distributed by the National Company “Poșta Română” S.A.
