Waldevar Energy has 270 MW of photovoltaic power generation projects under construction and the company’s annual solar unit construction capacity has reached 800 MW, said Cristian Dragomir, PMO / Bidding Manager WALDEVAR Energy, at the conference “2024: A defining year for the renewable energy sector in Romania”.
“The trend is upwards and this has made us scale up to build 800 MW per year. The numbers are always increasing. We are looking at other markets as well,” he said.
The company has increased its workforce to over 600 employees, of which 20% are expats. This year it will commission 267 MW of projects, with a further 600 MW to be delivered in 2025. At the same time, from March last year to date, the company has completed the design for 67 MW of solar installations and a high-voltage station and is looking forward to delivering integrated solutions in this sector.
CHECK The numbers in the “Monitor of the Romanian Photovoltaic Projects”
Given the interest of investors in photovoltaic projects, the situation will arise where not enough land will be available to consider floating installations.
“At some point, land will be insufficient, so we have to think about floating panels. Maybe that would be a good topic to look into,” he added.
