184 pages of interviews, analysis and opinions, fully bilingual are now available for all interested in the present situation of the Romanian energy industry. The printed edition will also be available in the next weeks and we will make sure it will reach, as it has been doing since December 2013, professionals in the energy industry in Romania, the managers of the most active companies and officials from regulatory authorities with responsibilities in the energy sector.
For them, we address topical issues, from the impact of the war in Ukraine on the energy markets to the adverse effects of the support measures adopted in Romania and in Europe, from the challenges that the managers of large companies have to overcome, to the often anonymous efforts for more energy efficiency in industry or at the end consumer, from the eternal decline of the heating system in Bucharest, to the effervescence of projects and investments in the renewable energy segment.

Energy security, not only national, but especially regional, has become a priority for the European interconnected electricity system, Gabriel Andronache, Chairman of Transelectrica’s Executive Board, told us in an exclusive interview for Energynomics. “Stepping up national investment programmes is the main way to maintain and strengthen energy security in this context”.
In these turbulent times, managing price risk has become essential in the energy industry. We learned from Filimon Antonopoulos, Managing Director of Tallon Commodities Ltd, how you can meet the challenges that come with the energy transition and geopolitical crises by putting price management skills to work. “Companies have never experienced today’s perfect storm, where electricity, gas, oil and carbon emissions have all accelerated in price at the same time. […] Energy derivatives, however, can offer solutions that don’t exist in physical markets and can make managers regain control that now seems lost,” he advocated.
In 2022, ANRE granted 11 new permits for the establishment of large renewable projects, with a total capacity of 695.9 MW, we learned from president Dumitru Chiriță. In addition, new power generation capacities totaling over 965 MW are almost certain to be built and commissioned in the near future. “Renewables are the number one option in this context and investments in the grid are inevitable. However, adapting/optimizing local small/microgeneration to nearby consumption can substitute grid investments by offloading them upstream,” Chiriță stressed.
Decision-makers, experts and managers are also featured in the new edition of Energynomics Magazine. Among them, Gabriel Andronache, Transelectrica, Ion Sterian, Transgaz, Volker Raffel, E.On Romania, Franck Neel, OMV Petrom, Mihaela Suciu, DEER, Petru Rușeț, Siemens Energy, Dumitru Chiriță, ANRE, Sebastian Metz, AHK Romania, Gerd Bommer, Advantage Austria, Oana Mogoi, ING Romania, Alexandru Stânean, Teraplast, Jozsef Balogh, Axpo Solutions AG.
We maintain an integrated approach on the entire industry, with four distinct sections for each large sector – electricity, oil and gas, renewables, thermo – and a section of general interest.
