Wiren has several renewable energy production projects in several European countries, including Romania, said Dor Marian, founder of the company at the conference “Stepping stones for the BESS technologies development”, organised by Energynomics.

“We have some first projects externally that we hope to be able to start in Hungary in the second half of the year, and by the end of the year we will be able to build in Portugal and Italy. At the same time, we are trying to prepare the ground for the second half of the year in Romania as well, and probably next year we hope to be able to build here. Our target is to exceed 1 GW in two years,” said Marian.

The company is currently more interested in winning EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) or BOP (Balance of Plant) contracts. According to Marian, Wiren aims to optimise projects both economically and in terms of environmental impact, including analysing how recyclable the materials used are. The company is also in talks with several manufacturers of charging stations for electric car batteries. The aim is to install high-powered units that would cut the time it takes to charge a battery to just 20 minutes. According to Mr Marian, reducing the time it takes to charge electric cars could make a significant contribution to increasing sales of such vehicles.
