Europe will not be able to reach its pollution reduction targets without the use of nuclear power, said Roberto Musneci, President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Romania.
“Now everyone is talking about digitalization and energy efficiency. Let’s not forget that, at European level, without a strong and structured medium and long term position on nuclear energy, the targets for reducing polluting emissions will not be reached in any case,” said Musneci, at the conference “Digitalization and energy efficiency – Brașov 2024” organised by Energynomics and the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Romania.
In addition, he said Europe could develop a system of thinking to better understand the current challenges and identify solutions for urban and inter-urban mobility, which are adjacent to the overall objective of reducing pollution.
