Cables and accessories used in photovoltaic power generation installations represent only 5% of the total investment value, but if they are of poor quality, they can cause 15% of malfunctions.

“Cables and cable accessories are only 5% of the investment in a photovoltaic project, but if we don’t use the right ones, they can cause up to 15% of defects”, said Areta Rîpeanu, Sales Manager at Lapp Romania, during the conference “Energy efficiency for the energy transition – Brașov”.

The Lapp company has 21 factories and is active in 144 countries, where it employs approximately 5,500 people. In the last fiscal year, the company achieved a turnover of 1.8 billion euros.

“Just as in the industrial field we are interested in having very reliable equipment, in not having stoppages in production, in the same way in the area of photovoltaic systems, considering the investment costs, we must also take into account the products we use. The weakest link in the system leads to the destruction of the entire system,” said Rîpeanu.
