XP Upgreen wins an important contract for monitoring and reporting methane emissions in Romania Bogdan Tudorache

XP Upgreen, a leading provider of comprehensive strategies and solutions for reducing the carbon footprint of Oil and Gas upstream operators, announces it has been awarded the Methane Emissions Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) service contract for four major assets in Romania for one of the largest Oil & Gas producers in Southeastern Europe.

Under this contract, XP Upgreen will annually measure and report all methane emissions in compliance with the new EU Methane Regulation. This includes emissions from a large number of facilities, active wells and pipelines, and inactive wells, over the next three to five years. This service will enable our partner to meet the new EU Regulation on Methane Emissions Reduction in the Energy Sector and advance its decarbonization and sustainable development goals.

“This contract allows XP to extend its fruitful partner relationship to make oil and gas fields more sustainable for longer time,” said XP Group CEO David Martinon.

“Our field technicians will identify methane emissions sources and accurately quantify them to create a comprehensive and transparent methane emission profile for each of the four assets in Romania. Our reports will comply with the stringent EU Methane Regulation requirements. Additionally, we will highlight opportunities for repairs and engineering changes to reduce these emissions,” added XP Upgreen Managing Director, Bart Wauterickx.

XP Upgreen provides comprehensive strategies and solutions to reduce the carbon footprint of Oil and Gas operators while maintaining operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
