We continue the extensive presentation of the Energy Evolution 2015 nominations with the Young Energy Professional category. Only one of the experts below will be awarded during the Gala on December 3. However, each of the companies and all the people involved in these projects deserve our respect and the widest promotion possible.
Alina Constantin, Chemical Engineer, RATEN-ICN
Alina Constantin obtained in 2008 a Diploma of Engineer at the Faculty of Applied Chemistry and Materials Science of the Polytechnic University of Bucharest. She attended a master’s in physical chemistry and corrosion and obtained her PhD in 2015.
From 2008 she has been chemical engineer in the Department of Nuclear Materials and Corrosion of the Institute for Nuclear Research, her current responsibilities enrolling in the field of radioactive waste management and international cooperation of the Institute.
From 2009 she has been a member of the Organizing Committee of the Annual International Conference NUCLEAR – Sustainable Development through Nuclear Research and Education, organized and hosted by RATEN-ICN.
In 2014 she graduated the World Nuclear University Summer Institute program, dedicated to training young professionals in the nuclear industry, as future leaders. From October 2015 she has been Vice-President of Romanian Nuclear Young Generation Network.
Bogdan Bărgăuan, Energy Manager, Servelect
During this year, Bogdan Bărgăuan, Energy Manager at Servelect, helped six of the largest industrial companies in Romania become more “healthy” and achieve their objectives of reducing energy consumption and costs, within partnerships to provide audit and energy management services.
The effort has come up with proportional results: six companies have reduced CO2 emissions by nearly 12,000 tons and energy consumption fell with the equivalent of 6.4% of total annual consumption. Energy savings estimated by implementing the identified measures are significant, the potential amounting to EUR 1.85 million each year.
Also, in a doctoral program, Bogdan Bărgăuan began to develop a Monitoring & Targeting toolkit, which will make an important contribution in reducing energy consumption, by setting realistic consumption targets, measurement and verification of savings generated.
Claudiu Butacu, President Solar Decatlon Bucharest Association
Claudiu Butacu has been managing the Fundraising department of EFdeN for over 3 years and attracted contributions of more than EUR 1mln. He develops projects at the crossroads between the energy sector, green constructions and emerging technologies.
He is certified as Professional Energy Manager (Schneider Electric University) and as Sustainability Manager – ECQA – LEAD SUS Program. In 2015, the Association inaugurated the first Research Center for Comfort Conditions in Romania, a prototype of solar house appreciated and rewarded at national and international level.
The house is energy independent, ecological, uses intelligent facilities and has an efficient hybrid conservatory, the first of its kind in Europe. It is designed as a solution to increasing densification of housing and mobility in Bucharest. In the industrialized version, the prototype supports the concept of a polycentric Bucharest, developing abandoned areas by building on these areas sustainable neighborhoods and a transport network based on renewable energy.
Daniela Cristina Stoicescu, Operational Director, Eva Energy
