The Association of Energy and Electrical Engineers – AIEE in partnership with the Faculty of Energetics of POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest is organising for the first time, from 31 October to 4 November 2022, the event “Career Days in the Energy Industry”. The event will take place in the Faculty of Energetics, and the High Voltage Engineering Laboratory will be transformed into an unconventional conference room. The atmosphere and energy created by the organising team are the means for every young energy scientist who wants to learn about the field.
The novelty of the event is the audience it is aimed at. At this event, the Faculty of Energetics opens its doors to students interested in a technical university, giving them the opportunity to learn about the energy field and take their first steps in the industry. They will take part in tours of the faculty, see the Energetics laboratories, interact with students and faculty members and learn about the opportunities offered by the Faculty of Energetics.
Participants will be joined at the event by renowned Romanian energy companies, energy producers, technology developers, promoters of innovation in the energy field, as well as multinational companies. They will hold one-hour workshops, where they will present information about the company and organizational culture, internship programs, job opportunities and last but not least, they will answer participants’ curiosities. The workshops will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, and on Wednesday, the event participants will also enjoy the presence of the companies at the booths set up in the main hall of the Faculty of Energetics.
“Career Days in the Energy Industry” encompasses, in addition to career opportunities for young energy professionals and study opportunities for future students, the discussion of topics of interest in the energy sector, such as Digitization in the energy sector, Development of renewable energy storage solutions and many other current topics that will be addressed during the Conference: Energy Present and Future, on Wednesday, November 2, organized by the Faculty of Energetics for students and alumni as part of the UPB Ambassadors program.
Technical visits to energy targets are not to be missed. This year there will be three technical visits, one to a transformer station in Bucharest (Enel), the second to the largest refinery in South-East Europe – Petromidia (Rompetrol) and the last to the Nuclear Fuel Plant in Mioveni (Nuclearelectrica). The visits aim to end the event on a relaxed note, where participants will see energy installations and have the opportunity to interact directly with specialists in the field.
